Technical/Functional Responsibilities

  • Acts as “hands on” engineering manager by having a lively interest in all activities of the engineering work; participates in getting problems solved and the work completed in time

  • Prepares either the Proposal Engineering Plan or, as part of the Project Execution Plan, the Project Engineering Plan, under which the engineering divisions can proceed

  • Communicates with/reports to the Project Manager for project execution matters such as progress of the work, outstanding matters, etc. However, with the understanding that the Project Manager has certain authorities

  • Represents Engineering and the Project Manager at client meetings re-engineering matters

  • Ensures that the project team key members for engineering & design understand scope of work

  • Reports variations from scope, budget and schedule to the Engineering Manager and the Project Manager if they have to be involved for corrective action

  • Holds formal schedule review meetings, assures that scheduled design and purchasing activities can be started on time

  • Coordinates and reviews the scope of work to be included in subcontracts

  • Consults Manager of Projects on general matters of staffing; quality of work; performance of his team members; project procedures and project engineering working methods. The Manager may check, review and audit the work of the Project Engineer at any time

Responsibilities includes

  • Coordination of all work to be performed by the technical discipline

  • Cost, planning, scope and quality assurance of the technical work

  • The approval of technical documents prepared by the project team

  • Verifying adherence to the (basic) engineering & design proposal documents and those in-house documents used for estimating

  • The control of engineering & design documents and vendor prints

  • The technical write-ups for contract variations (client changes: on client’s request or identified)

  • Adherence to the Project Execution Plan and project procedures

Qualifications

  • Must have sound execution experience in Ammonia AND Urea Projects in last 5 YEARS

  • Master or Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • Preferably with 10 to 15 years of experience in Engineering

  • Preferably with experience in site engineering

  • Proven ability to work with people of different disciplines
