Plans, directs and coordinates a portfolio of projects within a program to ensure client goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters

This position typically requires a minimum of twenty years’ experience as a Project executive or project related experience. An advanced degree and professional registration are preferred together with a Project Management Qualification.

The Program Director will supervise a portfolio of projects within a program. In this role the program director will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of each project. You will guide and supervise the project managers and inform the program stakeholders on progress and performance.

The program director must have a broad knowledge of program management principles, a strategic mindset as well as being able to lead and develop their subordinates. The goal is to ensure each project will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible value to our client. In this role the program manager is the company’s prime contact with the client and as such is responsible for promoting continuing relations.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and set goals and programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization.

  • Plan the projects from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes.

  • Develop or approve budgets and operations.

  • Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance.

  • Implement strategies to set goals, monitor performance and implement improvements.

  • Supervise all program and project managers involved to provide feedback and resolve complex problems.

  • Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people.

  • Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed.

  • Ensure program operations and activities adhere to Jacobs procedures and policies.

  • Keep the stakeholders and senior management informed with detailed, accurate reports or presentations.

Qualifications

  • 20 Years’ Experience; BS or MS degree and a professional registration or license are preferred

  • An advanced degree and professional registration are preferred

  • Can demonstrate proven experience as program director or project executive.

  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.

  • Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.

  • Through understanding of data analysis, reporting and budgeting.

  • A business acumen with a strategic ability.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

  • An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills
